The Yinchuan Airport (Hedong/ 银川河东国际机场) is the major airport in Yinchuan, the capital of the Hui Autonomous Region Ningxia and located 25 kilometres east of Yinchuan. The Airports name “Hedong” comes from the meaning “East of the River” since the airport is located east from the yellow river. It is a relatively small airport compare to other airports in China but it is connected to over 20 cities by direct flights or transferring (Xian, Beijing). Since 2016, it is also connected to Dubai by Emirates.
Tough the airport covers an area of 15,000 square meters, the Yinchuan Airport is unlike many other airports, not a place where you can do a little shopping before you take your flight so you shouldn’t expect much once you arrive.
Get from the Yinchuan Hedong International Airport to the city:
You can take a shuttle bus from the Yinchuan Airport which is cheap and convenient or one of the taxis waiting outside of the airport to take you to your destination. From the Airport to the city centre you will need 30-40 minutes by car and pay about 40RMB.
