The last three days were an exciting new experience for me. Not just that I visited the first exhibition show in China ever, I was also invited to the show to perform as the host for the re-born German car brand Borgward. Together with the Senior Designer Sabrina Essig, the Chinese Host Lig Gang and some main actor of Borgward China did we represent the comeback of Borgward in Yinchuan. For all those interested in getting to know the German brand, I have put some words together.
A little about the history of Borgward
Founded in 1919 by Carl F. W. Borgward, the german car brand dates back nearly a hundred years. The first famous project of the company was the 1924 Blitzkarren which was an enormous success. In 1949, Borgward presented the Hansa 1500 as the first European car brand to introduce a pontoon-style design car at the Geneva Motor Show, which is now known as the car of the German economic recovery.
In 1954, Borgward launched the most famous model Isabella, known as the legendary German car. Isabella won the favor of consumers around the world and the models were totally sold more than 200,000 times.
In 2005, Carl Borgwards grandson, Christian B., began looking for partners which opened up the road to recovery. In 2008, the brand revival established the German Borgward Group and after another seven years of exploration and preparation the company celebrated their comeback with the new BX7 SUV. The first car in 54 years.
“Nach 7 Jahren kann ich offiziell verkünden: Borgward is back.” Christian Borgward
As I said before, I was invited to host the whole launch of the BX7 SUV in Yinchuan and so I followed the invitation. In a spectacular show, we presented the new BX7 2015 for the first time in Yinchuan. I included your some more pictures of the show below. By the way, the price for a 2015 BX7 SUV is quite reasonable. For about 169.000 RMB (24.000€) you can get the lowest equipment model. A pity for all those not living in China, the car is not available in Europe yet.
